20 YEARS OF FUN and COUNTING…
Face Works’ owner, founder, and feature artist is Annette Abramson. She’s been creating smiles and bringing imaginations to life for over a decade. With face artistry, she has transformed thousands of faces into unique works of art. With balloon décor, she has transformed spaces into magical places.
Annette’s entertainment career began about 20 years ago while working in her father’s business of amusements and party rentals. During this time, she realized her own entrepreneurial spirit and wanted a way to express her artistic talents. After attending the ‘Halloween and Party Show’ with her father, she found the answer. It was there she was introduced to the true ‘art’ of face painting and voila, Annette’s career as a face artist was born. She started painting faces at their family’s party center, Jumpin’ Jubilee. In 1999 when her father sold the business, she decided to step out and start her own company, Face Works, where she could continue to provide the service side of entertainment. Needless to say, she has not put her brush down since.
Annette takes great pride in having been a part of the dramatic facelift that face painting has seen in the past decade. It’s no longer simple cheek art but rather extraordinary works of living art. Her creativity and attention to detail shines through on every face she paints. You are, afterall, presenting her with the most perfect canvas of all and she believes that every face is a gift to paint. Annette keeps up to date on her art form and industry by attending International Face and Body Art Conventions, taking classes from world-renowned artists, and painting with colleagues abroad.
She had two incredible opportunities in 2007 to travel to China with Cornerstone Productions to share her art. She taught at universities and painted at the Happy Liuzhou International Clown Festival in Liuzhou and at the Kim Tom Clown Festival in Shanghai. She joined amazing artists and performers from all over the world, many of whom were balloon artists. It was there she got inspired by the total ‘awesomeness’ of balloons and the artists who were creating wonder filled works of art. So, once back home, Annette couldn’t get balloons out of her mind. So, she began training in balloon décor and in 2008, that side of Face Works was born.
Annette has painted at all kinds of venues both on land and at sea. From local tour boats to the largest cruise ship in the world, she’s painted people from all over the world.
After working in the business of parties and events over the years and alongside a variety of talent, she’s come to know the best. She is delighted to offer a team of top-notch, talented and exceptional artists and entertainers and performers of all kinds.
Face Works has become Face Works Events to encompass all that we offer. So, from the ‘art’ of face painting to the ‘art’ of décor and entertainment, we’re ready to make your party or special event the ‘Best One Yet’.
